Bríd, Ar deireadh! tá me ag scríobh leat a Bhríd chun buíochas a ghabháil duit, as ucht an cúrsa iontach a mhúin tú, ó 25-29 Meitheamh. Bhain an triúr againn an-taithneamh as an cúrsa. D’fhoghlaim muid go leor gaeilge in atmaisféar spreagúil, greannmhar. Ó thús múineadh na ranganna ar fad trí Ghaeilge, agus mar sin bhí me abalta ár gcuid líofachta a fheiceáil ag dul i neart ó thosaigh. Bhí an-spórt againn le na gníomhaíochtaí breis, sean nós amhránaíocht agus damhsa. Bhí an turas treasna an oileán in aice le Eoin Pól thar bharr, agus tá me ag cuimhneamh fós, ar an tae blasta a thóg a mhatháir dúinn, nach bhfuil sí ina bean an-chineálta.

I’m switching to english now Bríd. I think my spoken Irish is a bit better than my written. However I do intend continuing with my goal of becoming more fluent in my native tongue, but for that to happen I will have to seek out like-minded people, here in my home town. Otherwise it will remain just a goal!

Once again Bríd a huge thank you for your enthusiasm, your time and your patience. All three of us felt we had a fantastic holiday as well as a superb irish course. Róisín stayed with me for a few days before returning to London and during one of our conversations she said in a very matter of fact way, “when I become fluent in irish, I want to speak the island irish”, I think that is praise indeed, Bríd.

Slán le buíochas, Máire Ní Fhearghaíl
